Warning: Spoilers
Steve and Audrey Talbot, both ex-cons are heading to an airport with the money from a robbery. But Steve, for some inexplicable reason, decides he wants to do one last robbery of a jewelry store. A robbery that goes very wrong when he kills the owner. He flees but the crummy used car he bought just that morning breaks down and a kind couple give him a lift. Not a good idea as when they hear a radio announcement giving the description of Talbot, he pulls a gun on them and then he and the wife hide in the travel trailer the couple is towing. The Highway Patrol is in hot pursuit and track Talbot to the airport. One of the great strengths of this series is that much of the series is filmed on location and not in studio settings. We get a lot of street scenes and shots of small town houses and businesses. One such scene showed the the store front for the Verdugo Escrow Company. Seeing that I immediately thought of Elena Verdugo, the actress best known for the Marcus Welby television show. The Verdugo family was evidently a family important since the days the Spanish were dominant in California.
