This movie presented a rather different vampire plot than most. The only surviving vampire,a female, is still in her sarcophagus not running around biting humans and drinking their blood. This 500 year old vampire who survived her entire families demise in the mid 1700's by the irate villagers who, I guess got fed up :) with the blood sucking. There is the female cousin who is in love with the male lead is subsumed by the ancient vampire. The vampire uses this love to take possession of the body and of course then wrecks havoc. some of the costumes that appear at the ball look very well done for the time. Not a bad movie at all.
