This classic anime series follows the adventures of Yuri and Kei; two employees of the World Welfare Works Association (3WA) known officially as the 'Lovely Angels' but better known as the 'Dirty Pair' thanks to their propensity for causing destruction wherever they go! Each episode sees them taking on a case where they deal with an assortment of criminals. The two of them are usually accompanied by Mughi; a creature referred to as a cat which is the size of a bear and a small robot called Nammo although these two stay in the background during most of the action.

Yuri and Kei are attractive young women who usually scantily clad but despite, this and the title, there is little dirty about this series; it is all about action and laughs. The action is entertaining and occasionally a little blood is spilt but it isn't overly gory and the humour is in the things that happen rather than overly blatant gags and excessive slapstick.

Given that it is getting on for thirty years old I feared it may have dated somewhat but the stories still feel fresh and the animation looks good. The main characters are fun and secondary characters serve to move the plot along nicely. I'd certainly recommend this to anybody who enjoys a fun mix and action and laughs and fans of more modern anime shouldn't be put off by its age.

These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles.
