There is many people hating it because the God of Destruction is kind and childish as the movie in its 60%. Even saying it is like GT, which wasn't like Dragon Ball. Don't pay attention to em!. The movie es canonical, it is all like Dragon Ball Z was, funny moment, childish moments, a bad overpowered guy, the Sayayins taking a beat and doing everything to save the world. Is a good movie. Many said the bad guy is not that bad, so is a bad movie then... come on!.

The fact that the God of Destruction isn't really bad and acts like a child is because he is a child, if you see at the end he gets a beat from his teacher, the guy who helps him, who is more powerful and his master. The God have reasons and wants, like Goku, fight powerful beings to probe himself.
