Thirakkatha (2008)
7/10
High Romantic Drama Dressed In Shabby Clothes. ♦ 65%

Literally, yes. Shabby clothes. The worst thing about Ranjith's Thirakkatha is the costume designing. Others being the editing, cinematography & screenplay.

Forming an ensemble-cast and putting them in character is a tough job. The makers have accomplished that and with immensely romantic writing, have succeeded in conveying a story about the celebrities & their stardom. Putting their lives into perspective, the writers bring out the negativeness and positiveness that tend to touch the viewers. The climax is just so melodramatic, it feels good and tears are sure to fall.

BOTTOM LINE: Recommended to everyone as it throws light into stories of celebrities and since it samples real-life stories, it is a must one- time watch.

Can be watched with a typical Indian family? YES
