I was surprised when MONSTER MAN was canceled: it allowed viewers to take an all-too rare and genuinely fascinating look at just how difficult it can be to get a monster up and running. Impossible deadlines and everything that could possibly go wrong combined with miscommunication(s) and bruised egos to produce episode after episode of a day in the life of a true Monster Maker. Truly fascinating. (One of my favorites had to be the two-headed shark; while it might not've looked Real World real, it was a great idea and it was fun to watch the shooting of the "double-header" attack.) It's sad that so many filmmakers these days opt for cgi instead of Practical Effects. Give me the monster in the rubber suit any day of the week.
