This episode of SVU concerns kids and their latest craze, drug cocktail parties. Why by illegal drugs like heroin or cocaine when you can get just as good a buzz from the stuff in your parent's medicine cabinet. The latest thing now is to just go to the medicine cabinet steal what's there as your ticket to a drug cocktail party where the pills are put in a bowl like choice candy. Only this time the wife of noted criminal lawyer Cary Elwes is brutally murdered and he's badly injured. The squad zeroes in on daughter Emily Van Camp and her boyfriend Justin Klosky. But things really go bad when Klosky dies while being apprehended by Christopher Meloni which puts Internal Affairs on the case. And of course Detective Stabler's mortal enemy from that squad Robert John Burke is handling that investigation. He won't rest until Stabler is off the force, he's got such an obsession about him. And of course he has to justify his existence as well. I'd rate this episode a bit higher but I thought it went way off track when the SVU squad wasted its time on a Mafia Capo who was mad at Elwes who did not get his father off. Still it's a good warning against using prescription drugs for recreational use.
