Review of Snitch

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Snitch (2007)
Season 9, Episode 10

Polygamous perverse
29 December 2013
The SVU squad responds to a young 14 year old African immigrant whose body was found dumped in the East River. Turns out that she had surgical genital mutilation done, a practice illegal here. It all leads to her husband Hakeem Kae-Kazim and his two other wives.

As is pointed out in this story, polygamy is still practiced in about a third of the world and in fact several of the honored personages of the Bible were polygamous. Not something the National Organization For Marriage is fond of being brought up. Kae-Kazim is also the witness in a homicide involving the beating death a young boy by drug dealer Method Man.

The squad is all over the place with their feelings on the matter of witness protection, polygamy, female castration all subjects covered by this story.

In getting Kae-Kazim to tell his story true without intimidation the squad also solves the murder of the young juvenile immigrant from Africa.

The story may have spreadeagled a bit in covering so much, still it's a good story.
