This show is not just for religious people. It doesn't discriminate against people who aren't Christian's as it is structured around belief and faith in general. Or lack of belief and faith especially during the challenging times in life. While not everybody believes in a god of sorts the majority of people on the planet have faith in something.
The first season was better then the second as it turned a little more negative over time. There were new introduced plot lines that just did not fit and felt abnormal for the characters to portray. But it still gives you a calming feeling when you watch it. I think that is why I liked it. Even if they dealt with a difficult topic they did it in a way that never made you lose hope.
