Kung Fu Hero (2012)

Shut the kid up!
4 April 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I think my experience with this film is colored by my low tolerance of kicking my seat non-stop on a flight. This kid totally reminds me of that, worse than the damsel in distress screams. The kid somehow always stands where he is most vulnerable to capture and screams non-stop to attract attention to himself. You'd think by the 10th time this happens the kid would start learning. But sadly, no, he screams to the end of the movie.

The fight choreography is pretty good. Lots of usage of urban environments, obstacle fighting a-la Jacky Chan. I can't identify the fighting style, but looks similar to the Taichi/wing-chun combination that seems to popular these days.

Typical of kung-fu films in modern setting, there is a stupid lack of firearms making the toughness of hero more "heroic".

one of the biggest problem I had with the story is why the kidnappers recruited from little town when coastal towns are much more practical.
