The best laid plans...

Warning: Spoilers
So let's see if I've got this straight...

The police are on the verge of closing in on the real Trinity Killer. Yet Dexter Morgan goes out of his way to derail their investigation. Why? So HE can be the one to kill Arthur Mitchell? Of course. And look how many innocent people got injured, killed, falsely accused, not to mention a child who was kidnapped and terrified, ALL because of Dexter's arrogance.

And that's exactly what's wrong with supporting Dexter in his personal vigilante crusade. He's already killed one totally innocent man (innocent of murder anyway). Now he's obstructing justice for his own personal reasons. He's not pursuing justice for justice's sake so all the crap about "The Code" "The Code" "The Code" goes right out the window. And with it, any credibility this show has when it comes to glorifying or defending or supporting Dexter, and/or what he does.

And it makes all the posts stating that Dexter shouldn't die all the more laughable. Of COURSE he deserves to die. He's a killer; not some lovable little forensic house pet.

And let's not forget about Rita, the lying manipulative hypocrite. After having kept the fact that she and Elliot kissed before the Thanksgiving meal hidden from Dexter for days, when she DOES tell him she lies and says that Elliot "mostly kissed" her. She really should have stayed married to Paul. The two of them deserved each other.

And as far as the police investigation goes...

wouldn't it have made sense for them to subpoena Christine Hill's cell phone records, thus allowing for the possibility of tracing calls back to her father? (Just another example of the lame non-believable logic this show employs repeatedly.)
