Review of Bewafai

Bewafai (1985)
7/10
Action vs Emotion
19 May 2014
The Emotion king of North clashes with the Action king of the South. This was the promotion for the film Bewafai. Two superstars Rajesh Khanna & Rajinikanth come together for the first time. The film was produced by Devar films which had produced 'Haathi Mere Saathi" which still remains Rajesh Khanna's biggest ever hit.

There are 3 gorgeous heroines - Meenakshi, Tina & Padmini kolhapure. It is to Kaka's credit that in spite of advancing age, he jells with his heroines in the romantic scenes.

Rajinikanth makes his appearance a good 1 hour into the film & he clashes swords with Kaka. Their confrontation scenes are a treat to watch. The director has a tricky task since he has to satisfy the fans of both the superstars but he manages it neatly.

The climax is a wrenching one with the honours equally shared. The only sore point of the movie is Bappi Lahiri's music which is average.

The film is a delight for fans of both the stars & is good entertainment.

The film had a delayed release but it did fairly well at the box office.
