Le Jayenge Le Jayenge

Warning: Spoilers
In the 1970s Shashi Kapoor used to give solo hits as well as multistarrers, This was one of his solo hits and released in 1974 and before his pairing with Amitabh. The film has a normal love story, it starts with Shashi arrested for attempting to rape Mumtaz which of course is false Shashi meets Danny,Asrani in jail and become friends and then escape from jail. The first half has more on romance, a bit comedy and songs but the second half shifts to a village where Shashi and all come and are mistaken for social workers, the scenes are well handled The film does meander but yet some scenes are well handled like Danny and Shashi clash in one scene, The second half does have several funny scenes too which make you laugh

Direction is good Music was a big hit, Gungroo Ki Tarah by Kishore, Le Jayenge were big hits, other songs too are good like Rafi's Ek Daal Par and Paon Mein Dori and other songs too are good though their placement does slow down things

Shashi Kapoor is good in his part in his inimitable style, Mumtaz too is good in her part, Danny is funny and his one liner Teri Maa ko apni maa kahoon is good, Asrani too is good Madan Puri is good, Kamal Kapoor is as usual rest are okay
