I'm not sure how this show got by the people at NBC who actually write checks (I don't even want to know how much they are paying Heigl) but it's just plain bad. One of the professional reviewers had it right when they said it was 4 years too late.
It's pretty much an exact ripoff of Homeland but with bad acting and unbelievable plots. For example, are we to believe that Heigl's character does shots, sleeps with a guy, then is mentally sharp enough to go to her job at the CIA at 130AM? What's even more ridiculous is that she's the one who's in charge of speaking directly with the battlefield commander and making the call on whether to take out a bin-laden like terrorist (that same night, mind you). Please.
The supporting acting is also garbage. This is the CIA and the "analysts" have tears coming down people's faces because there is a video online of an American getting kidnapped? I'm sure the CIA has never seen that before....
I know this is a TV drama but there is a high bar when you are trying to basically emulate show like Homeland.
