Homeland: Krieg Nicht Lieb (2014)
Season 4, Episode 11
Exceptional and Well-Rounded
22 December 2014
"Kreig Nicht Lieb" was next and was a fairly large upgrade from the ridiculous previous episode. Rupert Friend is hit or miss with his acting as Quinn, so I was wary of placing too much expectation on "Kreig Nicht Lieb" knowing Quinn would be the catalyst for the plot. Friend's acting was killer in this episode though, as was the typically arresting Danes. The writing "Kreig Nicht Lieb" was in a lower key of suspense—and for its own good—and the heart-pounding tension still found its way to the surface. This was an exceptional "Homeland" because it was so well rounded; it delivered on the character end, the action impulse and the element of surprise, and it held itself with poise while firing on all of those cylinders.
