This movie showcased probably the most awe-inspiring, realistic Mecca special effects I have ever seen. Utterly amazing.
Unfortunately, they have also succeeded in making the movie boring, boring, boring. They somehow managed to stuff into this movie pretty much every single Hollywood cliché, character stereotype, utter predictability, unfunny comedy relief, and UN-heart-felt emotion. Despite the stunningly realistic special effects, this movie felt completely fake. Perhaps, many viewers can tolerate fake movies as long as there is compelling suspense and drive to hold one's interest. I am sad to say, this movie presented near zero suspense or drive. It's actually a mystery how the makers of this movie managed to kill off all fun and excitement given the awesome effects available to them. Couple that with the lack of a single compelling character, we have a movie that should have been so much more...
