Franco Moon (2008 Video)
7/10
Pretty enjoyable and informative interview
8 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Jess Franco candidly discusses directing the early 80's slasher opus "Bloody Moon" in this 17-minute retrospective documentary. Franco reveals that the producers initially told him that Pink Floyd would do the music and that they originally wanted to shoot the film in Germany. Franco recalls female lead Olivia Pascale as a fine actress and a nice person, plus admits that he didn't take the story too seriously and considers the score and disco soundtrack to be the worst aspects of the movie. In addition, Franco notes that the Spanish title "Raped College Girl" is highly misleading and inappropriate due to the fact that no women are raped in the picture. In addition, Franco talks about "The Awful Dr. Orloff," how he thinks less is more when it comes to gore, and subsequently directing "Linda" for the same producers. Moreover, it's a hoot not only to hear Franco drop the f-bomb several times, but also to see Lina Romay saying goodbye to Franco at the very start of the interview. Worth a watch for fans of the film.
