The One Where The World Blows Up...
19 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I love this episode. It is one of my all-time favorite episodes of the entire series. I just love it so much. It has so many funny moments and it just makes me laugh over and over. No matter how many times I watch this episode, it never gets old, it never gets boring and I never get sick of it.

In this episode, New Years Eve is approaching, and it's the big one. Where the world enters the new millennium. Peter hears that the end of the world is approaching, Y2K, and tries to warn everyone. Of course, no one believes him. He buys tons of pre-packaged food, for after all the bombs go off. And instead of going to a neighbors New Years Eve party, he tricks his entire family down into the basement, so they'll be safe. Whilst everyone is down in the basement, wearing radiation suits, even little Stewie, a few seconds after midnight, nothing happens. The family get up to go to their party, and that's when the world blows up. The family is thankful that Peter was right, but gets mad when he eats all of their food. A years supply. Quagmire and Cleaveland are now fused together and share a body. Joe is infused in concrete in his own driveway and the Griffins head off to find a Twinky factory, because Peter believes they would've survived. Once they get there and the factory has indeed been destroyed, the family settles into the town, and creates it for their own. A year later, you see how the town is not really thriving. Everyone who survived Quahog is there and Peter is the mayor. Stewie was exposed to radioactive stuff and is now an octopus. Yes, you read this right, an octopus. He even lays his eggs. When Peter uses the metal from the towns water pipes to make guns, the town banishes him. But when Stewie's octopus children attack the town, they wish they had never burned the guns.

The only thing that gets me about this episode, is the fact that it never continues on. I know nearly no episodes of any cartoon lead on or are relevant to any other episode, and they didn't decide to make the entire show about after the bombs went off, but still.

Overall, I give this episode a 10 out of 10.
