Boyhood (I) (2014)

Oh. My. God. It was so bad we were laughing at the end. A crashing bore. And terribly long. And dull. Yes, it was an interesting concept to film the kids growing up, but that was it. The characters were so bland. Parts of it showed the kids in abusive situations which was the only emotion I felt during this insipid movie and it just felt bad. I am a militant feminist and even I thought the way the men were portrayed in the film was offensive. Then to add insult to injury, the first husband was an unsuccessful musician and they would play his crappy songs and you had to listen to them. The only thing that would have made it worse was if I spilled my soda on my seat and was sitting in a wet chair. How this was nominated for an Oscar I have no idea. I like to see all the films before the Oscars are handed out. I thought it would be an interesting character driven story. No. I could not have cared less about any of these boring people. Worse Oscar-Nominated film ever. And best supporting actress nomination to Arquette? Please. Marion Ross from Happy Days could have played this role. Save your money and your time. I was never so happy to see the credits roll in my life.
