1/10
Family Troubles is one more awful Our Gang comedy featuring one of its worst members: Janet

Warning: Spoilers
This M-G-M comedy short, Family Troubles, is the two hundred thirteenth entry in the "Our Gang" series and the one hundred twenty-fifth talkie. Janet's been crying outside because of her family's neglecting her while her aunt visits, preferring to concentrate on her older sister. So the gang has her getting adopted by a kindly elderly couple. Except that couple know about Janet and decide to teach her a lesson by being mean to her when no one's looking. Well, this was the most contrived, not to mention the worst acted, "comedy" in the series yet. It's so bad that when there's an attempted laugh involving Froggy saying "All's well that ends well, I always say" and Janet's father says "Shakespere said that" and Froggy just says "Shucks!", I just shook my head and wished that Pete the Pup just showed up and did what he did at the end of that other awful OG short, Big Ears: Flew his ears up and made a raspberry with them! What's next...
