Klinger gets a Dear Max letter from someone he is no longer married to anyway. His ex- wife, Laverne, has divorced her second husband and has now hooked up with Max's best friend (former that is). Who should show up in camp but a recruiting officer, played by Barry Corbin. Of course, Klinger is totally in the dumps and has given up on life. All he can think about is the wife he doesn't have anyway. And, of course, he decides to fall for the recruiting line where the army is his best friend. He re-enlists and Potter swears him in. For six years, yet. There is also a subplot about a male nurse who gets no respect or rank. In an interesting twist, he went into the army as a private, while women go in as second lieutenants. Of course, there are some interesting twists that we need to wait for. A pretty decent offering.
