Scary Girl (2011)
6/10
Good makeup and good Moretz
19 June 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This is a 4-minute short film by Funnyordie starring Chloe Moretz as a child actress who is incredibly scary and thus plays ghost girls in a couple movies, even if she will not pick up the ball. But everything has to end at some point and she becomes too old for her character niche. So she ends up in a television commercial for orange juice. The most hilarious coincidence. And the way her voice transforms into fast forward, a cameraman suddenly starts bleeding out of the ear and she appears behind the director was pretty scary done too. Of course, the core genre here is still comedy as with everything Funnyordie, but I found this actually a bit scary. The makeup is really good and I would also watch a horror movie starring her character if there should ever be one. Probably not as the company behind this does not make full feature films I believe. At least, we have "Let Me In" which I recommend to all Moretz fans who haven't seen it already. And you can also check out the Swedish original afterward. But back to "Scary Girl": Thumbs up that they did not include stupidly and completely randomly First Lady Michelle Obama here. Good short. The iCarly scene was funny and the soccer mum was hilarious as well how she talked about her daughter. That makes me think, I wonder what her father looked like. And that John Carpenter introduction came pretty much out of nowhere. Entertaining four minutes. Recommended.
