Review of Ungli

Ungli (2014)
10/10
In all honesty, I can't give anything less than 10/10 - I couldn't live with myself if I gave anything less for this superb film.

I think a lot of persons have blasted this film before actually seeing the film to its end. This film is among the best I have seen and with a powerful message to India as a whole. The message is: We Will Not Stand For Corruption, Give Corruption The Finger(Ungli). Ungli in Hindi translated is finger. So the title of the film bluntly means to show the finger to.

In the film a group of friends join together to fight corrupt persons, whatever their position. Be they corrupt policemen, judges, doctors, civil servants etc., etc., they all pay up in the end. Initially they only planned to do only one act of vigilantism, but they see what their effect to society as a whole on the media. They are seen as heroes in the public's eye and from then onwards they grow from strength to strength till they are known as the "Ungli Gang".

Watch the movie to find out what happens next....

The film boasts an array of Bollwood actors and actresses. Some are still young, some are veterans like Sanjay Dutt, Kader Khan, Raza Murad, Reema Lagoo and Mahesh Manjrekar. We have Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut, Neha Dhupia, and Randeep Hooda as the younger generation of veteran Bollywood actors. We have a great cast, a great script and wonderful direction by Renzil D'Silva, who wrote the screenplay for films like Aks, Kurbaan, Rang De Basanti and Student of the Year. The background music is also well done. All in all a great film for your DVD/BLURAY library.

Thank you for reading this review. May you live long and prosper.
