THE MATCH GAME is a fairly adult episode of the MONSTERS TV show, and I suspect its content was trimmed in the version I saw. The simplistic storyline sees a group of teenagers entering a haunted mansion to play the titular game, where somebody tells a ghost story until their match burns out. Little realised by them, the mansion really is haunted...
This episode plays out like a standard slasher flick and there's even the addition of a zombie for good measure. It's one of the more gruesome entries in the series, even if the content is very predictable. One of the most interesting things about it is the cast; there's an early role for TV favourite Tori Spelling alongside a turn from scream queen Ashley Laurence (HELLRAISER).
