Flawed variation on the Cinderella fairy tale

Warning: Spoilers
This is a cartoon in the Mighty Mouse series produced by the Terrytoon studio. There will be spoilers ahead:

This is a rather shopworn variation on Cinderella, with no stepmother or stepsisters. Cinderella goes to the ball, wows the prince, who is a bit of a twit. There's a rather annoying song at the beginning and the end and a rather jazzy musical number at the ball, with some caricatures which some may find offensive.

The villain here is a wolf. Cinderella flees the ball at midnight, the prince having grabbed her shoe as he ineptly tries to grab her as she's running. Cinderella runs into the night and is seen by the wolf, who recognizes her and figures the prince will come along soon.

The prince comes "riding" along on a stick horse, points out to the wolf that he's not in this fairy tale and gets waylaid for his troubles and the wolf "rides" on pretending to be the prince. The wolf fools Cinderella for a short time, but she figures out he's the wolf and the chase is on.

The prince manages to get free and call for Mighty Mouse with less than a minute and a half remaining. Our hero predictably catches the wolf and rescues Cinderella and returns her to the prince and then flies off in song. Meh.

This cartoon is worth watching once.
