Printing in 1899

Intérieur d'une imprimerie (tirage d'une épreuve) (1899)

This film from the Lumiere runs just over thirty seconds and we see a printer out in the street with three workers operating it. After a few seconds they pull out a newly printed poster. As with a lot of the films from the Lumiere company, this one here really doesn't feature anything ground-breaking but it's simply showing people something that I'm sure a lot hadn't seen in 1899. What's so fun about watching these films today is that we get to see how stuff was done over a hundred years ago. This printing machine was rather cool to see and it's refreshing to know that there's a video document of how things were done in 1899.
