Review of Tiki

Tiki (2006 Video)

Terrible, yet... inspiring?
4 September 2015
This movie is extremely low budget and it shows. I would say it is a 2000s equivalent to the 80s shot-on-video films. The acting is below average, but it's also a low budget horror, so that's kind of expected. The effects are cheap looking and could've been a lot better. (that really is a lost art)The story is simple, unoriginal, but simple. Some might refer to this movie as a "so bad its good" type of film, and I can see that.

"Inspiring" what I mean by that is, if you've ever thought to yourself "I wonder if I could make a horror movie" this movie will answer you with "yes". As bad as it is, it was made and distributed on DVD.

The best thing about the DVD, in my opinion, is the making of special feature on the disc. It shows what people are capable of if they want to get something done. My thoughts on the movie aside, it does give others hope they can to can make their own horror film.
