Missing a lot here

Warning: Spoilers
"Larry-Boy! And the Fib from Outer Space!" is another VeggieTales short film and this one is from 1997, almost 20 years old, or maybe older already when you read this review. In any case, it is not one of the earliest from the series, but certainly one of the earlier entries. However, I was slightly disappointed by Phil Vischer's work here. In my opinion, these 30 minutes missed some of the core elements that made the franchise so popular. Instead, this one goes a different path that many mediocre animated films these days go: lots of noise, action and many (failed) attempts at humor. The positive lesson aspect is missing almost entirely in here and the references to that regard are not memorable at all. As a consequence, there is also no real heart in here and this is usually the strength of other VeggieTales. The animation I was also not too fond of. Like the more traditional path from older VeggieTales films. As a whole, I do not recommend checking it out. One of the weakest installments I have seen so far and it baffles me that this has such a high rating here on IMDb and is generally among the most known from the franchise. It is not a success. Don't watch.
