My Cat's Favorite!
15 May 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This was an excellent set of short films for my cat! He was rapt throughout almost all of them. "Something is in the wall!" was first and had both of us hooked. We followed Larry's every move as he stalked along every inch of the wall, stopping and listening every few seconds, backtracking occasionally. Gandalf (my cat) started listening at the walls in our apartment for that mouse or something (we never found out what it was) after watching this. "In The Neighbor's Garden" had us transfixed, especially when the bird feeder with the yellow breasted house finch perched on it came into view. (SPOILER ALERT!) I knew that Boots wasn't going to make a kill in this film, but Gandalf didn't! Almost too exciting. (Almost!) "The Comforter of Friends" was a welcome relief from the tension of the first two. We spent most of the film on the comforter in the bedroom with Sheila, not-quite cat-napping. What a wonderful surprise when not one, not two but FOUR other cats joined us. Every kitty greeted every other kitty when they arrived - and do you know (SPOILER ALERT!) that each one greeted Sheila first?! No dominance fights or growling, just lots of purring. All that purring made Gandalf start purring! The weird part is he doesn't get along with other cats all that well normally. "Red Dot Commando" was great fun, of course, although the ending was a little disappointing for me because of a lack or any meaningful resolution. There's 14 others and I won't spoil it all, just be sure to check this movie out. Gandalf gives it nine stars!
