Bloody good fun!

Warning: Spoilers
Let me start this off by saying that if your looking for a game with a complex story, then this isn't the game your looking for. However, if you're looking for a game that's fun, look no further than DOOM.

You play as Doomguy, the protagonist of nearly every other doom game, who wakes up on top of a mysterious altar on a Martian base that has been overrun by demons. That's how the game starts, no backstory, no explanation as to why you are there, and I love it. It feels like a reimagining of the original doom games that just dropped you into the action as soon as you hit start.

The combat is fast-paced and extremely fun. The game encourages you to be constantly moving whilst attacking because staying still means death 99% of the time. Then there are the glory kills. Glory kills can be pulled off once the player causes enough damage to an enemy, once the enemy has low health it will become staggered, this lets the player perform a brutal melee kill to finish it off. These kills range from breaking the enemies neck to ripping out their own hearts and shoving them down their throats. Fair to say this isn't a game for the faint of heart.

The games campaign clocks in at around 11-15 hours long depending on if the player wants to find all of the secrets and collectibles. These secrets range from action figures that the player can find that unlock 3D models in the main menu, to levers that you can find in each stage that unlocks a classic DOOM level that you can play. There are 13 levels in total.

The only flaw that I have found with the game is the boss battles. There are only 3 in total and they are a little bit too easy unless you are playing on the hardest difficulty.

The multiplayer is OK but unnecessary, it feels a lot like the halo multiplayer with a doom skin painted onto it. However, there is one feature that I like about the multiplayer. Players can turn into demons for small amounts of time and use it to rack up more points.

Overall, DOOM is a game that I feel many players would enjoy, especially fans of the original games
