Warning: Spoilers
"The Accident" happened right there in Ed's garage, a car falling off its jack and on top of Chico, resulting in painful cracked ribs. Ed needed an operation as well, having pulled Chico out from under the car and throwing out his back, and who should be present at the hospital but Chico's girl Liz Garcia (Jeannie Linero, second of four), formerly a terrible singer: "Miss Registered Nurse of Tomorrow, Miss Bedpan of Today!" Now that she's building on a successful career, she's disappointed that Chico is still working under cars. When Ed listens to Chico's life story, it ends with the news that he's chosen a new career and has decided to leave the garage. Insurance agent Angus W. Markel (Arnold Soboloff) is ready to provide Chico a settlement of $7000, as Ed reminisces about his own life for Louie. Going into show business, he encountered Flora the lovely tattooed lady: "she had flames tattooed on one knee, and the devil tattooed on the other knee, and when she crossed her legs, it looked like hell!" From there he went into burlesque: "he was outstanding in Philadelphia, he was outstanding in Boston, and now he's out standing in the washroom!" Concluding that 'there's never been a Watergate in tire rotation,' Chico is perfectly happy to make it on his own while staying in the honorable profession of mechanics. Liz Garcia's funniest bit is repeatedly calling nurse McInerney (Joan Crosby) 'Macaroni!'
