Review of Samraat

Samraat (2016)
5/10
Same casting...But much better than other recent release.....

In Bangladesh right now Shakib Khan is the only superstar who has the star power. Last 5-6 years only he can give guarantee for the producers to save their investments. Only the name of Shakib Khan a movie can run at least 10-15 days in Bangladesh. Typically for a Shakib Khan movie, the budget is 10-15 million taka and for his star power, the movie can recover its investments. This a very good thing for Shakib but not for Bangladeshi film industry. This means there is no other hero or actor in Bangladesh who could have depended by the producers. This is a very bad sign for a film industry.

Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Raz is a talented director and I saw his TV dramas. That TV dramas are good and he maintains a decent quality for his dramas. In this movie, he also maintains his typical quality and the dialogues. The casting is regular and typical but Indranil. The antagonist is Misa and the protagonist is Shakib. I am not revealing Indranil's character. The story is a little bit different and the screenplay is very good. The direction is also above the average. Shakib's performance is very good. Indranil has done a fair job for his role. Apu Biswas is not OK and not so impressive for her role. But the surprise comes from Misa Sawdagar. I know he is a good actor but in this movie, he is very typical and very intriguing. His performance is so malicious and spiteful. He must change his acting style and have to give up his dialogue delivery performance like this.

I am not telling this is an outstanding movie or a pioneer for new Bangladeshi movie era. But this is a fair attempt at a good watchable movie and I totally appreciate this attempt. Hope in the future they will continue their attempt.
