Oppam is well scripted and delivered; keeping the audience thrilled and engaged the entire duration of the movie. Mohanlal's (Lalettan) performance deserves to be appreciated along with other actors including P Samuthirakani, who portrays a negative role in the movie but more like an antagonist, seeking peace within himself rather justifying his actions for being wrongly accused previously.
Priyadarshaan who directed many super-hit movies previously didn't disappoint many fans and audience alike. Though it was well conceived and scripted, it didn't feel like it was an original scripting rather a copy paste of scenes from various Malayalam movies, Tamil movies, Telugu Movies and many other English movies which I prefer not to mention as the list can get long and elongated. Anyway the movie is a blockbuster success at the box office though of its lack of originality.
We as an audience enjoyed in spit of all flaws as we are die hard Mohanlal fans!
