Could do without the witches

Witches? Really?

Aside from the really cheesy witch-ladies and the fact that "powerful words" fix everything, the Shakespeare Code was a pretty good episode. It was funny enough, adventurous, and had a nice ending, but I had a hard time getting past the weird way of fixing everything by using "powerful words" and naming someone. Doctor Who is a Sci-Fi show, and as far as I'm concerned the only thing that had to do with science-fiction in this episode was that the Doctor and Martha traveled to London in 1599. I don't really think that witches and magic words should have a place in Doctor Who, so I'm glad that this was only a one time thing.

The Shakespeare Code is a pretty good episode of Doctor Who. If it wasn't for the funny/feel-good ending of the episode I would have probably given this a 6/10, just because the episode was so average for the first 35 minutes, and because I wouldn't want anyone who hasn't seen Doctor Who before to watch this and then get turned off by the many cringe-worthy scenes in this episode.
