Le déjeuner du chat (1895)

This Lumiere film will certainly appeal to cat lovers as this has to be one of the first films to feature a cat. Basically the camera stays in place and for a minute we watch the cat. I must admit that I was quite impressed with the fact that the cat stayed inside the frame throughout the movie. The majority of the time the cat is licking its paws, which I'm guessing was him/her getting ready for its close-up. In all reality, there's obviously nothing ground-breaking about this movie but it was certainly fun to watch and I'm sure it would appeal to many since it probably was the first or one of the first cat movies. Just think, in today's age this thing might have been a social media darling.
