Medecin De Campagne circa 1966
5 March 2017
The release of "Medecins De Campagne " starring François Cluzet last year might remind some people of this old TV series of the mid- sixties.

Cécilia is a young thespian who arrives in the rural France in her Deux-Chevaux (then often the first car you got).Unlike the female character of the 2016 film,Cecilia had to practice medicine in a more hostile world;a woman doctor in the country was not an easy thing to accept then (see also Jean Gremillon's "L'Amour D'UNe Femme " (1953));she had to fight mistrust and prejudices;besides people are used to seeing a healer .Will she win them over?

Nicole Berger ,who had been working for more than ten years became a celebrity overnight thanks to her part of a doctor ,but ,sadly ,was to die in 1967 in a car crash.

Compare with the part of Marianne Denicourt in 2016;only one patients refuses her ,and a second one is embarrassed only because he suffers from a V.D.
