I'm a big fan of Dave Chappelle. Sunny D, Chip, Sprinkle Some Crack, Black Hostages, Sesame Street etc. all are amazing jokes and contributed to some of the funniest specials any comedian has ever done. Unfortunately, this show (episode one of a two-part Netflix special) was barely chuckle worthy. There were some jokes that had me laughing, but ultimately this seems like the Eddie Murphey Gay Bashing show of his career.
The offensive jokes don't really land and rely on outdated stereotypes that plenty of other comedians (like Louis CK) have already tackled in a much funnier way. The anecdotes are interesting to listen to, but don't really have punch-lines.
All in all it was just sort of "meh".
