A real dud of a Troma release
25 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
FORTRESS OF AMERIKKKA is a rural American action thriller that's even less entertaining than the usual fare released by Troma; it lacks the kind of campy, fun nature of something otherwise awful such as A NYMPHOID BARBARIAN IN DINOSAUR HELL. The story involves some rural gung-ho antics as lawless mercenaries roam a national park and a rugged hero goes up against them.

The first thing to say about this film is that it's way too dark. The night-time scenes are poorly-lit, making it hard to see what's going on, and they take up the majority of the running time. The acting is of the usual pitiful standard with wooden performances all round. The quality of the film is generally poor and the only exploitation comes from some topless nudity. Even the action scenes, which should be the highlight of a film like this, are badly staged and inept. It's a real dud.
