Review of Rostered On

Rostered On (2016– )
9/10
Gem of a show for anyone who's worked in the service industry .. and even more for those who haven't !

As a retail veteran, this show is at times painful, at times evocative, but always never less than funny and yet the best thing about it is it also acts as a morality lesson for anyone who's not worked in a service industry. As with Sky's Trollied (set in a supermarket) the idiots are both sides of the counter while the good guys quietly simmer .. well, most of the time they do. There's actually a lot of outbursts in Rostered On, which definitely places it firmly down under. I doubt anyone in the UK would act the way most of the staff do in fronting up to the customers - not if they wanted to keep their jobs, anyway. So many of the characters are instantly recognisable along with most of the situations they find themselves in, but the customers really are the stars of the show. The main cast are all well-drawn, but the men and women visiting their store .. wow .. they're absolutely bang on the money for me.

Great show. Great dialogue. Lots of mileage too, so I hope it continues !
