Review of Darkness

Darkness (2017– )
Bad! ...*Really* bad!
7 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I just watched S1E01, and guarantee I'll not watch another.

First, there is no point to them doing this exercise.

Second, it's staged! No danger! They have put adult rats deep in an abandoned mine in a cheap attempt for a creep factor. Rats need water and food, and there was obviously neither where they were in this episode. You will not find rats purposely, permanently live deep in a mine where their eyes (chief survival sense)are useless. (Sewers have ambient light from manhole covers' holes, and rats easily venture from them for nearby food and water)

Third, as quickly discovered by blind humans centuries ago, a very useful tool for manoeuvring is a tapping cane (for the generic term). In this episode Bambi even carries a stick, but uses it like she's on a hike. To me, this would be the most obvious tool to first acquire, if these "experts" would shake their heads a bit.

Also, just try blind folding yourself and walking around your home after someone spins you to disorient you. You will naturally find yourself squatting and waving your hands all around and only inch forward like a crab trying to locate objects to avoid. In this show, they don't even duck (in a mine!), but just walk slow like they knew there was nothing to walk into or duck down from.

Several other clues that gives the fiction away, but I'll leave it for others to post.

*This show indicates the utter desperation networks are in, trying to come up with something new while exerting no real effort. Discovery Channel...you should be ashamed.
