Warning: Spoilers
SHADOWS OF A STRANGER is a British indie that takes the form of a Yuletide mystery thriller. Various characters are tasked with finding a missing stranger and there's some mild supernatural elements involved, elements which of course are kept off-screen throughout. And it turns out this is completely terrible in every respect, but particularly in the decision to shoot the whole thing with actors in front of a green screen, so that all of the backgrounds are badly-drawn CGI. It reminded me a little of those '90s-era video games like PHANTASMAGORIA, but with worse FX. The only draw is from the various cameos including DR WHO personnel led by a wheelchair-bound Colin Baker and, randomly, Sarah-Jane Honeywell.
