Review of I Wish You Love

"I Wish You Love" is a wonderful film with deep emotional moments on subject matters that ordinary people have endured with characters interwoven seamlessly and beautifully by Koseniv. She explores different areas of love and relationships that many have gone through or have observed in others. The dialogue is authentic and real with heartfelt sentiments. When it pertains to matters of the heart as in the title, "I Wish You Love" sometimes, there's never a concrete ending on how two people will relate afterwards but Koseniv allows us to see the love that had been exchanged, whether it's the love between a teenage daughter and a single mother or a romantic love. She portrays that love is not always easy and can be heartbreaking and that people will sacrifice simply because they are trying to do the right thing. Svetlana Koseniv's first feature is impressive and I look forward to her next one.
