In one of the better "Persuaders" episodes, Danny buys a fixer-upper house in the English countryside.
Though a multi-millionaire who fought his way to success from the New York streets (sort of like Curtis himself), Danny prefers not to have a ready-made estate with hundreds of acres of rolling countryside. He opts for a broken-down, "Green Acres" shack which he intends to fix up himself.
Unfortunately, he runs into a few obstacles. A mysterious Squire whose henchmen are intent on beating him up. Words like "FOREIGNER" painted on his walls. A possible coven. And, most mysteriously of all, a body in his well.
Naturally, a pretty girl is involved ("The Persuaders" rarely had extremely beautiful women guests, but they were all the sort of females Brett and Danny could pal around with). She and Brett really discover the key to the mysteries of Danny's cottage, in a story with a nice double-switch at the end.
