I'm trying to be generous to overcome a pet peeve. Any story about abuse of authority and gestapo tactics by government agencies sets my hackles up hard. It didn't help that the agents were so stereotypical and stupid. I think this was supposed to be a comical element. But I stuck it out to watch the love story develop between Meghan Ory's and Andrew Walker's characters.
Walker, as usual, is a sure bet and Ory gels with him nicely. At first they spar with one another. Ashley was a bit whiny and self-absorbed in the beginning but inevitably Ashley's true character comes through and her charm works it's magic.
***SPOILER*** I didn't read the book, but might now. The movie's story was obviously predictable, but most romance stories are, at least in the happily ever after. Even though I knew it was coming, Dash showing up with the hay ride clinched it.
