I have been thinking a lot about what had attracted me towards Into the Badlands series. The story line? No. The acting? No. They are all very standard..Or was it the martial arts? Not really, as today's most Hong Kong movies are in the same kind of standard. It's the ambiance, the brilliance of the details, music, costumes and locations that were filmed. In this episode it really had been breath taking.
Apart from that, there are really ridiculous scenes too. I mean while Sunny is getting shot by 2x burning arrows, being crushed under heavy concrete, getting stabbed two times and the guy just walks away, whilst Gale gets stabbed once and off she goes on the spot. WTF? Couldn't the scenarists find some better way to opt her out ? Is this all your creativity ? Plus to the fact that Sunny furiously chops away anyone in his way on the way to reach is family and right in the end leaves Quinn to be ? Weak story line strikes again !
