Hassle's in the air - and boredom too

Warning: Spoilers
"Tassels in the Air" is an American 17-minute black-and-white live action short film from 1938, briefly before WWII, so this one has its 80th anniversary in a few months. It is another Three Stooges film from the Curly years and the trio are janitors here who get mistaken for renowned decorators. You can imagine very well that it results in a big mess when they work in their new profession. The two most interesting aspects here are probably that we have Moe admitting a mistake on one occasio, which is definitely a rarity, and the fact that the director is Charley Chase, a renowned actor from the days of silent films back in the day too and he made this one here brieflöy before its death, actually a remake of a film he was starring in years earlier. What else? I personally thought the comedy was very mediocre and the supporting characters were bland and irrelevant. The Stooges had some moments as always, bt the writing for them also wasn't on a level where I would recommend checking this one out. I am a bit baffled by the high ratings as this is definitely nowhere near the best Three Stooges stuff I have seen and I have seen a lot. So I give it a thumbs-down overall as the locations also had very little to offer. There was one shot though where we had Larry looking right at the camera Stan&Ollie style and that scene I liked. But it just wasn't enough, not even for under 20 minutes. Only watch it if you really adore the Stooges.
