Review of Raw

Raw (2016)
9/10
An intense journey.

You might've heard the hype behind this one, that people couldn't even finish this movie because of its gory nature. And while there is some gore, I believe it's just used when it is needed, they don't over do it. That is not to say that this is an easy watch, it isn't, but it isn't one of those gross out movies either.

I didn't really know a lot before watching the movie and was pleasengly surprised by the atmosphere of the whole movie. The actors did a great job, specially Garance Miller. What I loved about this movie is that it's not simply about cannibalism, it's a journey. the journey of a shy young girl who is in the process of discovering herself. The composer of the main theme of the movie, Jim Williams, probably doesn't get enough credit for his amazing work. My favorite scene in the whole movie fits the theme so well, it's hard imaging it without it.

All in all, this movie can be a hard watch, but it's totally worth it.
