Death in Paradise: Dark Memories (2018)
Season 7, Episode 7

Something Fishy about this crime.
15 February 2018
A very good episode from the Seventh series of Death in Paradise, I've been critical of some episodes for feeling unoriginal, and for recycling old material, this episode managed to be intriguing, clever and be very original. It felt very fresh, original ideas, a very unusual start, and a totally different, and much welcomed conclusion. For a show which is normally so light and frivolous to discuss a subject like bullying, was I thought a brave and intelligent move, for people to see that even the likes of JP's character can be bullied in his youth and conquer it head on was terrific, deeper content then we usually get on this show. Of course there was the usual fluff, DI Mooney's fish, Dwayne and Darlene's problematic, but delightful relationship. A surprise twist for Dwayne, so it'll be interesting to see what develops for him and his visitor in next week's finale. Overall the penultimate episode of Series 7 was very good indeed.
