Ann and Debbie (1986 TV Movie)
5/10
Friendship trumps all
22 March 2018
Besides the restaurant waiters, Ann and Debbie is a two-woman show. Deborah Kerr and Claire Bloom meet for drinks in a ritzy restaurant and discuss their dead mutual acquaintance. While at first, the audience doesn't know what they're talking about, the truth becomes clear pretty fast. They fling insults as easily as they exchange sympathies and shed tears; and, it sure seems like both actresses had a lot of fun while filming this tv movie.

Claire Bloom is aloof and interesting, and Deborah Kerr is properly devastated and understanding. If you like introspective stories that that start in the middle and work backwards, or girl-power movies that show friendship is the strongest bond, take your afternoon tea while watching Ann and Debbie with your girlfriends!
