I don't understand the misogynistic reviews of this series. It is set 30 years in the future, so I think many thing can change in our society in 30 years, such as gender roles and identities. Same with ostensible race. A lot has changed in the past 30 years, just extrapolate.
The space science and planetary science is like being in a parallel universe.
It can be enjoyed, but a pretty major suspension of disbelief is required.
